Private Personal Drum Selection Sessions

We offer one-to-one private sessions by appointment for those who wish to take the time to personally experience and select their own drum. This session is ideal if you want to truly feel, listen to, and connect with a particular drum.

Sessions take place privately in a quiet space at the Haybarn, where you will have a spacious and calm environment to experience, explore and try our beautiful one off drums, rattles and shakers at your own pace.

 This allows you to narrow your choice down to one or two drums that you can purchase on the day and take home with you (there is absolutely no buying pressure.  

The Haybarn is a very special place where many spiritual, healing, and wellness events are held. The energy of the land and the building itself is deeply resonant and often felt by those who visit. Weather permitting, you are welcome to take a drum or two outdoors into our surrounding woodland or by the river to further connect and choose the drum that feels right for you and that you connect with.

We highly recommend one-to-one sessions, as they give you the opportunity to try various drum sizes and designs. Each drum feels and sounds different, with unique lacing patterns, craftsmanship, weight, grip, hide, tone, vibration, and emotional quality. Every drum is a one-of-a-kind piece. It is often said that the drum finds you, rather than you finding the drum.

There is absolutely no obligation to purchase a drum, and there is never any pressure.
We are happy that you visit us weather you find your personal drum companion that day or not.

What Happens During a One-to-One Session
•    Upon arrival, I will introduce a selection of drums and explain their differences, including how they are built, lacing styles, weight differences, and how to best hold and play larger drums. Larger drums are often the most popular due to their rich sound qualities, though they can feel heavier for some users.
•    I will then awaken the drums by playing the Mother Drum powwow for approximately 10 minutes, while you take deep breaths, settle into the space, and set your intention for finding the right drum. This is supported with the use of various shakers, rattles, and gentle sounds.
•    The barn will be fully prepared for you with incense, rugs, cushions, and chairs to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment. I also use a variety of incense and smudging practices as part of the preparation.
•    Around 15~20 drums will be selected and displayed for you to explore during your two-hour session. 
•    You will also have the opportunity to try our range of beautiful handmade shamanic rattles that complement the drums.
•    Once you have chosen the drum or drums you wish to take home, we will complete a short bonding ceremony together. Please allow approximately 20 minutes for this.

A selection of herbal teas will be available for you to enjoy throughout your session.

Pricing & Additional Information
•    One-to-one sessions cost £40/ person (for those purchasing a drum - per 2hr slot).
•    You are welcome to bring a friend to support you in choosing your drum (no cost).
•    Unfortunately, pets are not permitted.
Receive a £20 credit towards your new drum if you buy one on the day !

Accommodation
We appreciate you may have travelled some distance.  You may wish to explore the beautiful hills in the area such as Carding Mill Valley and Iron Bridge which are both a short drive away. We have a cozy Glamping Pod available with a double bed if you wish to stay overnight this is priced at £60
