Our Drums

We work exclusively with traditional drum makers who have been crafting sacred, one off handmade drums for two generations in the foothills of the Himalayas.  We design the drums, lacing, colours and specify the materials. The family sources the materials locally and skilfully hand craft each one of our drums individually with the most love and care possible. 

In this deeply spiritual region, drum making is not simply a trade — it is a ceremonial art passed through family lineage, guided by respect for nature, spirit, and ancestral knowledge and a communal activity.

Each drum is unique and a one off. Individually and skilfully handcrafted with intention, presence, love, and reverence. The work is slow and conscious, following traditional processes that honour the natural rhythms of the materials and the spirit of the instrument itself. These are not mass-produced drums.

Natural, responsibly sourced materials are used wherever possible. Particular attention is given to the lacing, the finish of the wood, and the tonal balance of each drum. The makers follow traditional practices that honour both the animal hide and the tree that forms the drum body, acknowledging the life that becomes part of the instrument. This respectful “birthing” process is central to the drum’s spiritual integrity and energetic presence.
